The Douglas Town Chronicles
Set in the fictional town of Douglas, Oregon, summer of 1982, the day long adventure circles around a group of young teens led by Gwen Evans, who is motivated to find an answer to a possible ghost sighting. The answer she hopes will be found in the abandoned Victorian House high on the hilltop of Douglas Park.
It's a day that changes their lives forever, with discoveries that were more than anyone bargained for.

*Second in the series, "Beneath the Stairs", picks up on the group's first day of high school, and all the anxiety riddled angst that being a freshman can bring. There are school events, first dances, and first loves. There is also the ongoing journey of Gwen learning more about her extrasensory perception, and the discovery of a Wiccan coven in Douglas, who seem very interested in her new found gifts.
Meanwhile, nightmares involving people who once lived in the Victorian House continue to torment her and her friends. Gwen's presence there that summer had done the opposite of what she had intended - putting a poor spirit to rest - and awakened something else instead. So in mid-October, with a new ally in tow, they return to the house to confront what lay at the heart of it - hoping to put an end to it once and for all.
On the night of the Halloween bonfire, she receives a disturbing vision, followed by hearing the echo of a girl's harrowing scream. Apparently it wasn't over quite yet.

*Third in the series, "Across the Dark Stream", picks up with Gwen in the grips of a nightmare associated with the previous night's bonfire. But it's not really a dream she is experiencing, it's as if she is inside the body of the girl who screamed - experiencing her fresh horrors first hand. Thus Gwen finds herself entangled in the mystery, struggling to find answers to: who is behind the abduction, how is she able to have a psychic connection to the victim, why does she even have these abilities, and what is she supposed to do about it.
In the process of discovery, she uncovers more town secrets, dating back to its founding families' time in Scotland, as well as the truth behind the spiritual vortex in the Victorian House.
In a life and death struggle, she learns the hard way that nothing in Douglas is as it seems... even her own
family.
